The official opening of the new school building took place on Friday September 25th. Over 500 people attended the  blessing ceremony by Bishop Eamonn Walsh. Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Alex White, TD and former Taoiseach, Liam Cosgrave where in attendance along with members of the Knocklyon community.

Both principals spoke at the celebration and the school choir were also in attendance and from accounts of those who were there, sounded wonderful.

The opening also attracted the attention of the local media and was mentioned in both The Echo and The Dublin People. You can read both articles  and see photographs of the day via the links below:
