Since writing about the Touch Typing classes being run by Searsol, it has come to my attention that there is a touch typing and spell class being run here in Knocklyon by Deirdre McAuliffe.  Deirdre is herself from Knocklyon and has been running these courses since 2008.

typing2It is a Touch Type, Read & Spell Course which has been running since 2008.   The typing/computer literacy course is aimed at teaching children from age 8 upwards to type & to improve their reading and spelling.

The course runs after school each Wednesday in St Colmcille’s Community School from 4.15 onwards, duration is one hour.

Word lists are based on the Alpha to Omega book, the course is multi sensory & extremely successful.  The course has been running in Ireland for 8 – 10 years & in the U.K. for 24 years.

Students love the course at it is user-friendly, increases their self-esteem & confidence.  The course would suit children that want to learn how to touch type and it is also suitable for children that have Dyslexia or Learning Difficulties .

Children are welcome to attend a free introductory class either Wednesday 16th March or after Easter.  The new term commences on 6th April ’16 and if you would like further information or book a place for your child please contact Deirdre 087 6709667 .
