As a lot of you may have heard we were first prize winners of the National Parents Council, Fred O’ Connell Award.  Which, we are absolutely ecstatic about.  What we wrote about was how we have tried to connect with Parents and also help them to connect with the school.  One of the main ways we have achieved this is through our website.

The award ceremony was on the 28th May and as is the “norm” for me, the award ceremony didn’t go quite as I would have hoped.

Below is the photo taken at the award ceremony and I know a lot of you are looking saying she could have made more of an effort and where are the rest of the committee?  Basically, we had no idea that the award ceremony was taking place or that we were even in the running for the award.  I found out 50 minutes before hand.  I was in town and was heading straight out to the school to meet the rest of the committee to set up for the next day’s communion.  So I definitely wasn’t in my glad rags.  I arrived to the award ceremony with only a few minutes to spare, sweating and thinking yeah we have definitely won because I look like I have been dragged through a bush backwards and I have to get my photo taken, TYPICAL!!  I can tell you what is going through my head, while the photo was being taken, “crap, this photo is going to be up on their website for at least a year!! ”

Anyway moving on from that unfortunate photo.  I decided that we should take a photo of the committee with the award and we would put that one up on our website.  Below is the photo that was taken.

No I not doing a ballet pose, I am actually holding the award!  It’s glass and because of the top I am wearing it looks invisible.  I know, there are really no words.  Not one of us realised that you couldn’t see it until we saw the photo itself. It was at the end of a long meeting, we just wanted to get home.  It was like take the photo quick and let’s get out of here.

Clearly, we are not meant to get a good photo with this award.  I know when I am beat, so rather than trying AGAIN to get a photo with this award  I changed the above photo with Photoshop so that you can now at least see the award!

Other than the photos not turning out quite as we would like them to.  We are extremely proud of our achievement and we thank you all for your positive feedback and continued support.
